We have been using RAMC for a number of years, and their training is sexcellent. They accommodate all members of the team, both clinical and non – clinical. The training is fun, effective and rewarding.

Emergency life support course was excellent in every way. It was well paced, interesting and very informative. Phil Dinsdale kept saying the same things in different ways so it stuck in your mind. We all now have confidence to act in a situation and know what to do and in what order.

Spent a day training with two very experienced trainers Ian and Matt (24.07.21).
Both Ian and Matt delivered training content which allowed and encouraged participation, delivered in a friendly and professional manner.
Enjoyed the whole days sessions which can often be a challenge as can suffer from information overload but Ian and Matt managed to hold all learners attention with their delivery. Informative and fun day.

We use RAMC to provide training for our in-house First Aid trainers. They receive a thorough grounding in First Aid using realistic scenario based training and are give insights into how to present First Aid to our leaders in an interesting way.

Have used RAMC for several years now to provide an up to date relevant refresher training session for First aiders in workplace; the training is fun, memorable and certainly interactive! Feedback from attendees is always positive – they feel they learn more from this session than their original training as they have little opportunity to use their skills so are very appreciative of the session to give them confidence. RAMC are efficient, reliable and very professional service would not use any other company now.

This ILS course is excellent and I would highly recommend it to anyone working in the Custody (and SARC!) setting. The scenarios used the the training were specific to the Custody setting making this day very relevant to the unique set up in Custody. The trainer – Jon – was very enthusiastic throughout and delivered the course material in a very “easy-to-grasp” manner.

The venue at Imber Court was very spacious with plenty of free parking. There is also a very nice cafe/restaurant on site meaning you can get a hot meal/filling snack on top of the free tea/coffee/biscuits provided.

I found the course very valuable. It particularly good to have the course delivered by experienced medical professional who had the knowledge to answer my many questions !

We have used RAMC for our annual BLS and anaphylaxis training many times and its always excellent. We have tried other trainers in the past but they have not been nearly as reliable. RAMC provide excellent whole team training for combinations of clinical and non-clinical. We would highly recommend them.

I am a 67 year old retired GP offering help with the Covid 19 vaccination programme. I did not know what to expect with this part of the ” back-to-work training” and was very pleasantly surprised by the positive friendly and extremely useful face-to-face teaching that I received. There was clear,practical instruction that makes me more confident to deal with unexpected emergencies as part of a team.at a vaccination centre. The teaching was laced with humour and anecdotes and respected my previous experience. Thank you.

An excellent refresher for me allowed me to expand on my knowledge base and put theory to practice. really enjoyed the day,

I attended a one day ILS course in Bristol.
The course was well structured and presented.
I enjoyed the scenarios which were tailored to suit the requirements of the Optical Express employee.
Overall very impressed, everyone was involved and encouraged to speak.
Human factors is something I have a great interest in, very pleased this was also included.

Steve training day was excellent. I was taken in by his depth of knowledge combined with professional experience and passion for sport.

I have done first aid training in the 70’s and 80’s with scouts, poolside life saving, BSAC SCUBA and in the 90’s Territorial Army training. I was amazed firstly how rusty my skills were, secondly how much has changed. Steve got the messages across whilst dealing with the class various random experiences.

The de-fribulator training in particular shattered the mystique around this magic box of tricks that is appearing in public.

Whilst a day out of our busy lives is hard to find it very worthwhile and you never know when you will need the skills.

Very efficient teaching of the theory good use of teaching materials

I completed my resuscitation training on 2.2.19. It was a Saturday and weekends are valuable family time. My expectation of the course was the usual breaths and compressions for CPR and to practice with the resuscitation Annie dolls. How wrong I was………. The course was delivered in my own hospital setting and I arrived to see a power point presentation ready to go, resus Dolls in beds, equipment on trollies and a happy/ jolly trainer who was keen to get going. My attention was immediately captured and Steve our trainer was full of real life stories to back up how the guidelines had evolved over the years and how they are best applied in practice. He created a very honest and open environment for learning and emphasised how the various methods of assessing patients before a cardiac arrest occurred. He was clear, concise, evidenced based and explained the ABCDE approach. We had lots of time to practice the theory, applying our new knowledge and skills. He gave us a variety of role play scenarios and gave us particular parts to play in assessing and resuscitating the patient. We received continuous feedback and were able to learn from one another. We used proper resuscitation and defibrillator equipment to practice with and the scenarios got more challenging as our confidence grew. The course handbook was extremely comprehensive covering resuscitation in primary care setting through to secondary care and advanced life support. If only all mandatory training could be this much fun! It was a Saturday well worth spent and would happily give up a weekend day to update my skills and improve the chance of saving a life. I can’t recommend this course enough.

RAMC Ltd provided an Interim Lead to review our Resuscitation Service. Whilst here they reviewed, re-wrote & implemented an up to date resuscitation policy, developed and implemented a new system to audit all resuscitation calls, and revamped all of our training programmes to all medical & nursing staff. Their team were punctual, well presented and articulate, with excellent communication skills and excellent people management skills. It was a pleasure to work with them and we would re-employ Stephen and his team with no hesitation.

Another excellent ILS update by Steve Furnell. He always makes the training relevent, relaxed, enjoyable and informative.

An excellent ILS training session by Steve for two radiographers and four endoscopy nurses. He made it very relevant to the participants’ individual needs and tailored it to their specific workplace requirements. The course was inclusive, encouraging and entertaining. It left everyone feeling confident about their abilities to carry out immediate life support in an emergency situation. I have used Steve’s company for many years and the training he delivers has always been excellent.

Since CP+R started operating as more than one person in 2010 we have used Steve Furnell and his team at RAMC as the provider of all AED and Life Support training at our facilities. Steve has also played a huge part in offering advice and guidance, from his extensive knowledge and background, as we have ventured forward into providing a rehabilitation service for acute clinical conditions in an non-hospital setting.

RAMC do not just believe in ticking boxes but place a huge emphasis on understanding the principles behind what they are teaching. As a result you gain so much more insight into the development of their field and are therefore far more rounded in your approach within your particular setting. They are adaptive and flexible ensuring that, whatever scenario you might run through, it is completely tailored to your environment and the personalities within your team.

RAMC seem to believe in people and motivating people to deliver exceptional life support should the need arise. As an organisation we ultimately feel safer and better prepared thanks to their training and guidance.

We have used RAMC on a number of occasions over the last several years for our Annual first and AED training.
The service provided has been second to none with the Trainer “Phil Dinsdale” keeping a captive audience with his skill, knowledge and wit.
The training sessions are presented very professionally with all questions answered and many interactive practice sessions, making this fun and informative.
Booking has always been easy with excellent communication between all involved.
I would not consider using any other company to do our annual training as RAMC provide exactly what they promise.

I have just had my ILS update with Steve Furnell and once again , I feel that my knowledge and my approach to dealing with a deteriorating patient and the cardiac arrest scenarios have been reinforced.
It is a valuable day and the delivery and training is superb.
The day is structured but Steve succeeds in making it feel informal and without stress.
We had staff from several clinical backgrounds with varying previous knowledge and Steve succeeded in training all to the required level.
This is a testament to the trainer and the delivery of the subject matter.

We have used RAMC Ltd to deliver Resuscitation Council UK Immediate Life Support (ILS) and Paediatric Immediate Life Support (PILS) training to medical and dental practitioners and PCD’s for a number of years. The quality of the courses is very high as is the level of presentation. It appears not to matter which member of their expensive team is doing the presentation, the feed back is always the same – excellent.

An incredibly interesting and useful course run by passionate and enthusiastic individuals. Came away feeling confident to deal with a medical emergency situation should it arise. Thoroughly enjoyed the course and will make sure to attend regularly throughout my career as a healthcare professional.

The ILS training was delivered in an interesting and animated way that gave meaning to the information in the manual and helped our understanding to help us remember all the important points in managing a deteriorating patient.

RAMC Ltd have been delivering exceptional service and education courses to since 2004. These courses have been directed to both employees and patients alike. I believe one of the key reasons for my continued involvement is the fact that each of their trainers has the unique ability to understand the audience and deliver the information accordingly. Once again Steve and John have provided an excellent full day course covering all aspects of resuscitation, recognition of deterioration in health and how to recognise those at risk. They also covered many aspects of healthcare in the police custody situation. The whole course was run in a relaxed manner but challenged us to think about different scenarios. The practical tests were excellent and realistic so much so that we felt the same anxiety that we would experience in real life. It was a chance to make mistakes, which we all did, and so learn from them in a non-threatening environment. The pre-course materials were excellent and were relevant to the problems we might encounter in real life. I look forward to seeing them both again in the future to brush up on my knowledge and skills. The whole day is fun but relevant.

I have done multiple similar kind of courses but this course some reason made me feel that I have learned sometihing new and be confident at work. Trainers were amazing.

I have heard nothing but good things since Phil, the trainer attended our company to fulfil First Aid training.

All of my staff now feel well prepared if an emergency situation were to happen.

Phil was professional, direct and efficient. He kept everyone involved, highlighted the seriousness of each emergency situation and engaged all at every opportunity – even a little comical at times!

We had 12 people for training, and a very very small room and Phil made it work without any fuss or complaints.

The ILs course I did on July 10th, 2023, was quiet refreshing. The facilitator Steve was excellent. His mode of delivery and his calm demeanor made learning so easy. It was my first time doing this course and it didn’t felt as if it was. I was very relaxed and enthusiastic about learning.
The knowledge gained was incredible and thoroughly put together. The overall presentation was excellent. Job well done Steve.

I attended a full day course for my BLS, Anaphylaxis, and IM Injection course for the vaccination program. It was a very diverse group of people, from different backgrounds, that Ian and Jon gracefully brought together and built into shape for the job in a really fun and interactive way! Being a healthcare professional I have attended many of those. It was the first time that I felt so well informed and ready to recognise the signs and tackle anaphylaxis. Thank you both!

The first aid course I attended was well paced, informative and very importantly did not over complicated what is required in a first aid situation. The head/neck injuries and defibrillator sections were well good and explained simply and effectively. Course presenter, Steve Furnell, was inclusive and positive.

Despite the limitations imposed by Covid, Iain and Steve provided a really great day. Just the right balance of learning without making it off putting. All done with lots of humour and lots of reassurance.

One never knows what to expect on training courses except that there will be a lot to absorb. I felt that they imparted a lot of really useful information and feel confident that I am now prepared for the role.

Although I was familiar with CEWS and ELS having done the course it was a great refresher.

All the trainers were very knowledgeable with years of experience, they were able to provide realistic scenarios for us to work through as small teams. this proved well and I felt our team gelled and worked to all our strengths.

I feel sufficiently confident in the use of the MERS kit and look forward to delivering training where I can develop my skills and improve my knowledge of the different scenarios.

Some very useful reminders eg. recovery position: hey cheeky do you want to get your leg over, never gonna forget this now…
Also that the only role player is the person presenting the scenario the delegate should be working for real. thought this was a good way of explaining it.

Very rare in the NHS to have welcoming lecturers. Very pleased to see that the lecturers actually talk to you and look at you rather than staring ahead of you or look away when interacting.

My trainer, Jon Sion was excellent at tailoring the training to the individual needs of the group.
He delivered the training in an accurate and memorable way whilst keeping it light and at times entertaining.
Key points of learning were highlighted and repeated for clarity.
I would recommend this company for future resuscitation and injection training and other medical emergencies.
The equipment and facilities were the best I have seen.

I recently attended a training course for Resuscitation and medical conditions and IM Vaccinations (preparing to work as a Covid Vaccinator). It was on Saturday 20th February 2021 at 08:30 am, Rose Room, Twickenham Rugby ground). There were 4 instructors, 3 male and female ( forgive me for not remembering their names!)….But, what I do remember is how OUTSTANDING, professional and courteous they were. All used appropriate humour to win our confidence and promoted motivation and involvement. They gave us all the skills we required and empowered us to leave, ready and capable to perform in our new roles. as vaccinators. We decided to get Jonathan to deliver our annual Basic Life Support/anaphylaxis training in house this year and as expected were not disappointed. The course was expertly delivered by Jonathan with his usual humour chucked in for good measure. The content was informative and comprehensive and most importantly evidence based. Looking forward to doing this as an annual CPD event. Thoroughly recommended!!!! Top quality CPD delivered by people at the sharp end of the business!!

I was a little apprehensive about doing something completely out of my comfort zone but Jon and Ian made it very enjoyable and a great learning environment for neophytes like me. Feel confident with what I learned that I’ll have the knowledge I need out on the line.

Recently attended emergency resuscitation clinical training. It was fantastic. Content was split into chunks which helped with understanding. Trainers, especially Joe, were great and kept us engaged and entertained with their stories. The depth of experience between the two trainer was tremendous. Very well thought out and delivered course.

Dealing with RAMC was very easy from the initial contact to the booking and holding of the course and RAMC were extremely helpful when it was necessary for us to reschedule. The training itself was presented by Phil in a clear and concise manner and was enjoyable and stimulating. We all definitely feel better informed and more confident about CPR.

Used RAMC for a few years now at 2 different practices. They have always been very pleasant and make the learning experience fun for the staff, which essentially is how learning should be!

I feel more confident, well equipped to manage an emergence life threating conditions or situations where ever I am. The instructors are very knowledgeable, introducing case based learning which is challenging but worth it. I did appreciate the importance of including clinical work, and also recognise the value of illustrating teaching points with simulated cases studies. Linking theory to practice, through the application of knowledge to the cases. This enhanced my understanding and build my confidence. I sincerely appreciate the teaching skills applied. I have done BLS, ALS and ILS since 2003, your approach to the subject is the best. Thank you for making my working life easy.

I always look forward to our yearly ILS update with Steve. Steve always makes the sessions informative but fun and you can see that he is very knowledgeable in his subject area. The scenarios are very useful as they they make you think out of the box and work as a team. I also really liked the use of computer software to allow us to see if we were doing compressions deep enough and at the right rate. As a team our final score was 98% which was fantastic. Looking forwarded to our next ILS update next year.

I’ve attended anaphylaxis and bls training many times before. This course was probably the most relevant and informative I’ve attended. Great instructor who made everything relevant to working during the current pandemic.

I am a retired cardiothoracic anaethetist who undertook this training in order to qualify to be able to give COVID vaccinations. I used to teach CPR myself and most of the people on my course were medics – 2 of us anaesthetists. At no point did I feel exasperated as is usually the case. Steve was immensly knowlegeable and interesting and knew exactly which bits of the stuff we might be a bit lacking in – use of safety needles, for example and changes in respiratory support recommendations. I learned a lot, and I really enjoyed my session and thought it was really well planned and organised.

I would highly recommend RAMC for life support training. We as a company have been using them, for our Basic Life Support training for several years. I attended the ILS Course at Charing Cross Police Station. I was impressed by the unpressurised way in which the information was effectively taught on the course. We learned a great deal from anecdotes as the teachers have a huge breadth of experience. It was valuable to have a course so tailored to our needs as healthcare staff working in the particular environment of the police station. It was good to have a multidisciplinary group – the addition of police officers next time would make it perfect.

Once again, a very enjoyable ILS training day! Jon made the day very interesting and fun giving very relevant case scenarios and constructive feedback. There was also very insightful published research shared and participant discussion was encouraged. I 100% prefer these ILS training sessions to the hospital based ones as they are perfectly tailored to the custody/SARC environments we work in and I would not hesitate to recommend them.

Excellent 1 day first aid course giving real skills and the confidence to use them

I was not looking forward to a day spent learning how to give i.m. injections and revising management of anaphylaxis and resuscitation techniques. I can honestly say, I really enjoyed the training given by Jon and Iain. They were professional, informative, thorough and fun.
There was also the chance to compare notes with other going through the recruitment process which was reassuring.
Altogether a very positive and helpful experience. Thank you.

This year’s training somehow made me focus even more on the correct techniques I needed to use during a resusitative procedure and how to manage my behaviour and other people involved during this procedure.
The scenarios were appropriate,well demonstrated and explained and the lecturers were very knowledgeable on the topic and were willing to answer all questions.
On the whole a very worthwhile day and I look forward to my next session.
I now feel more confident and adept to face a resuscitative event if I need to

I recently attended an ILS course at Charing Cross Police station. It was delivered by John Sions. I have nursed for nearly 40 years and I can honestly say that this was the best ILS course I have ever attended. John delivered it in a way that made learning really enjoyable. He was clearly hugely knowledgeable and the course was full of interesting facts, all delivered with a great sense of humour which made the day not only informative but really good fun.

This was a very good course with particular attention to current practise and our circumstances. It was also made very interesting and amusing at the same time.

Knowing Steve Furnell and his colleagues at RAMC Ltd and their passion and commitment for what they do, it was an easy decision.

Everyone has to experience the RAMC First Aid course. Steve is very professional and delivers the course in a factual, humorous, uncomplicated way with plenty of interaction through practical sessions. The time flew by as we covered a lot of topics but not in an exhausting way. I would definitely recommend this course which should be compulsory for everyone.

I recently had the privilege of attending an ILS (Immediate Life Support) course that left me not only equipped with vital skills necessary in an emergency situation should it arise in the dental field but also inspired and empowered. From start to finish, this exceptional course surpassed all my expectations, from the delivery by such an excellent tutor; I cannot emphasise enough how essential this course is for all medical professionals.

Having just returned from a 2-day Instructors refresher course I would like to express my thanks to the faculty. I always look forward to my annual refresher course as I know it will be informative, up to date and delivered in a way that encourages me to enjoy learning and refreshing my skills. This course was particularly helpful and interesting considering the current pandemic.

Interactive and enjoyable course

The medical emergencies and IM training course was excellent. Iain and Matt were very thorough in their explanations and took their time answering all the queries. They were very knowledgeable and prepared, also made the training very interesting.

Jon and Steve presented this one day training day for Covid Vaccinators. We were a group of six NHS professionals. Both gentlemen managed to deliver training to those of us whom are very well qualified and also those in the group that are newly qualified and new to post.,

Jon and Steve successfully delivered a training day that that was extremely enjoyable. There was excellent group interaction and all members felt able to ask questions and participated. There was humour ++++. They updated us on the very latest resuscitations/covid/misc news that we should be aware of. They are both very experienced men whom obviously enjoy their job and it shows!..

I have been in the NHS for over 30 years and obviously attended sessions like these many times over. However, I can say that Monday’s session with them was enjoyable and informative in equal measures.

Steve Furnell delivers training in a way that really is very interesting and interactive, it is certainly not death by powerpoint. He encourages discussions and provides real life examples which helps you to learn. You come away feeling motivated and inspired as Steve is a highly experienced nurse and has a great sense of humour too. The training is of a high standard and I would not hesitate recommending RAMC to others.

A really fun learning environment where everyone felt supported and empowered to deal with difficult scenarios. This was achieved by a very calm and reassuring trainer Rus. Rus was very obviously highly experienced in delivering this course . He made us feel confident in our individual abilities and more cohesive as a group working together to deliver excellent patient care.

I had a lovely day recapping Basic Life Support and learning IM injections with Steve and John. They are both amazing characters that know how to engage and drum in key concepts, whilst also using humour to make the day as enjoyable as possible as well as extremely educational. Thank you.

Really enjoyed the course. I felt it gave me exactly what I felt I needed to know. Rationale was explained, examples given, the opportunity to discuss and ask questions and plenty of time to practice. It really focussed the training to the situation we would be working in. I felt the trainers were really knowledgable and really serious about making sure that they were teaching best practice and wanted to make sure that everyone was up to speed with the knowledge and skills to care for patients safely.

I must say as somebody who has come from a major commercial company as British Airways working in the capacity of flight manager and customer service trainer I felt that the two trainers that facilitated yesterday’s course were superb. They were welcoming engaging knowledgeable and realistic. With just the right amount of humour .I felt the course was paced well and thoroughly enjoyable.
The function room was well laid out potentially could’ve been a little bit more conducive to learning with some natural light and the ability to buy hot and cold drinks from a venting machine.. Well done to everybody involved I attended the course with some of my ex-colleagues who also felt the same way.

An extremely enjoyable course, with very professional delivery style.
The impressive experience, backgrounds and knowledge of all the trainers was evident from the outset and they were able to ideally contextualise the training to our work environment quickly and efficiently. The course was quite short in duration, but the delivery style of hands on training experience, reinforced with role plays was an excellent methodology. All of the role plays were analysed in a hot de-brief with constructive and progressive feedback given.

Just spent an enjoyable day attending an update session for BLS, anaphylaxis and injection administration technique in preparation for working as a Covid immuniser. Our trainer was extremely knowledgeable and engaging and has helped me to feel much more confident in my abilities after having not worked in the medical field for the past few years. Would highly recommend RAMC training.

Training given by the RAMC Team at Twickenham Stadium on 22/04/2021 was amazing. The course was very engaging and interactive.

The whole team loved our training day, it was interactive, and fun, it gave us the opportunity to do some team building and train along side each other. Our instructor Steve was very professional but also really friendly and engaging. We look forward to our training course in December 2023.
